While colds and the flu are running rampant, it is more important than ever to have a clean office. Daily precautions can be taken to avoid spreading a cold throughout the entire office.
In an ideal world, we would all stay home when sick. However, many of us are either too much of workaholics, have too much to do or simply don't have the sick time available. With the inevitable presence of sickness in the office, how can you prevent its spread? Here are a few key ways:
- Educate your employees - making a simple announcement to the company can cause employees to be more mindful of the threat posed by germs. Remind them of the importance of hand washing, teach the proper methods of doing so, and make sure your bathrooms and break areas contain reminders.
- Make cleaning supplies available - if disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizers and cleaning sprays are not readily available, few employees will bring their own store from home. Make sure these are not only available but strategically placed.
- Encourage employees to stay home - most companies offer sick time, but employees may shy away from its use. Reassure employees that it is appropriate and even preferred for them to stay home if they cannot do their best at work and are potentially contagious.
- Install no-touch paper towel and soap dispensers - these dispensers make the hand washing process easier and prevent cross contamination. Also, placing the trash can near the bathroom door encourages employees to use paper towels to open the door and then dispense with them.
While these tips can be used on a daily basis to keep your office cleaner, you don't have time to do the deep cleaning of your bathrooms, desk spaces and break rooms. Let Pro Power Clean help alleviate the stress associated with flu season, contact us today!
